Harris Health employees interested in becoming an RN and are pursuing an associates or bachelors degree in nursing are eligible to apply for the Reach for the Stars (RFTS) Nursing Scholarship Program. The scholarship is available for any staff member who has been a Harris Health employee for at least one-year, completed their prerequisites, and has been admitted to a Texas public nursing school, subject to eligibility requirements further explained on the Intranet RFTS site.
This generous scholarship covers tuition, books, fees, and parking. Beginning October 2023, each scholarship recipient accepted into the program receives a one-time payment of $1,000 to be used towards uniforms, shoes, lab and medical equipment, and other education-related items as needed.
