The Code of Federal Regulations defines research as "A systematic investigation designed to develop and contribute to generalizable knowledge." Nursing research is a systematic inquiry process that is designed to develop knowledge about issues of importance to the profession of nursing (Polit & Beck, 2012).
Harris Health Nursing is steadfast in its commitment to building and fostering a culture of excellence. Essential to this mission is our determination to facilitate the personal and professional growth of our nurses and healthcare partners by imbuing them with spirits of inquiry and providing the knowledge, skills, confidence and opportunities to successfully engage in scholarship. Harris Health created a Nursing Scholarship Strategic Vision, which delineates the plans for our preferred future and provides a framework to guide our journey. We are confident that the appraisal of existing evidence, creation of new knowledge, and translation of relevant findings can achieve optimal patient outcome results and advance nursing practice.
