The mission of Nursing at Harris Health System is to "optimize health and provide healing services to our patients and community through safe quality care delivery, coordination of care, and education." This is performed while honoring the legacy and healing ministry of our nurses who have served Houston’s most vulnerable patients. Harris Health Nursing has a rich past, dynamic present and promising future.

Nursing’s Strategic Plan provides vision for advancing nursing practice based on its goals. One of the goals is to develop a collaborative, learning nursing organization. Harris Health nurses enjoy the benefits and support of working with colleagues and leaders within an environment that values team learning, personal mastery, mental modeling, shared vision and the ability to approach work within a systems thinking framework.

Harris Health Nurses are passionate about patient care and want to excel as nurse clinical leaders at the bedside. An integral part of Harris Health’s Journey to Nursing Excellence is a commitment to the system’s goal of becoming a national model for patient-centered care. Nursing Professional Practice Model
El NPPM (modelo de práctica profesional de enfermería) de Harris Health es un marco de trabajo para prácticas de enfermería centradas en el paciente, basadas en la evidencia, que le brindan al paciente una mejor posibilidad de recuperarse.

3. Care Delivery System
